A recent article in Fortune Magazine titled: Why I sold my family’s century-plus-old company to my employees, Bill Stockwell offers his thoughts and motivations on how he decided to turn Stockwell Elastomerics into an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) company, and the incremental process he used to make that happen.
ESOP is now part of the company’s history as the ESOP started in 2017 and went to 100% employee-owned in 2024.
