Stockwell Elastomerics proudly serves our customers from its 3 building campus located in Northeast Philadelphia. While we often highlight our value dense materials, our vast capabilities, and our customer focused service model, today we want to highlight the community and culture that supports our employees who make our customer requirements a reality.

Stockwell Elastomerics has been in business since 1919 and is a fourth generation privately-owned business that is now employee-owned via its ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan). While change is constant, the mission here is clear: provide superior service levels to our customers, create opportunities to invest and develop our workforce to enable both professional and personal growth, successfully hire team members who need a second chance, and continue operating with our close-knit community in Philadelphia.

In order to achieve these goals, we have The Stockwell Way – 32 focused fundamentals that highlight our ideals for cultivating a home away from home for our employees. They range from “Be a Great Internal Customer”, to “Have a Positive Attitude”, to “Make Quality Personal”. These fundamentals are discussed weekly at production board meetings and monthly at company-wide meetings, and a different employee writes a personal story about the fundamental which is shared company wide each week.

While culture is always a work-in-progress, the fundamentals and employee ownership drive employees to not only feel a part of the team, but be one. This has resulted in an average employment tenure in production of 17 years, countless ideas for continual improvement, and people who truly are invested in success of our company and the success of our customers who make this all possible.
